Family Day

Family Day Specifics

Sunday, August 11, 2013

11:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Admission is free!

Lynbrook High School Campus, San Jose, CA

This is an opportunity to take those special people in your life back to your high school. Meet with old friends. Visit the stomping grounds that you spent four years at. Have the opportunity to visit with the teachers that changed your life. All within a casual setting. Bring your lunch or purchase it there. This should be entertaining for young and old alike.

Performances & jams will be happening ALL day. The stage will be between the rally court (above the steps) and the ASB office (old Cove). If you would like to participate fill out the Music and Performance Sign-up Sheet. Understand, that just because you sign up it doesn't guarantee that you'll be performing. All is dependant upon quantity of sign-ups and available time slots. One of the performances will be by the current Lynbrook High School Marching Band.

It is encouraged that you bring your own food and snacks. Some of the clubs will be selling Root Beer Floats, Sodas, and Water as fund raisers. Remember that alcohol is not permitted on school proprety per state law.

Classic Car Display
Brian Guthrie has volunteered to oversee the Car Show. If you would like to participate fill out the Class Car Sign-up Sheet. It appears that there are going to be some really cool rides! If you've got a car that you're really proud and would like to share it fill out the form.

Memoriam, Vets Memorial and LHS Memorabilia
The Cove will be a display area for a memoriam for our fellow Vikes and also for memorabilia (the first Epic newspapers, old athletic uniforms, etc). Patrick McDowell is creating the memoriam and Erich Rabago is putting together the memorabilia display.

View the "New" LHS Campus
Just like us, the physical facilities of the school has aged. During the last few years much of the campus has been renovated. The building that we new as the library is now the new science wing. A new library building has been completed behind the main office/admin building. The Cove is now a Dance Studio. The wood, metal, and auto shops are no longer there. Their space is now used by Music and Drama - the performing arts. A new Field House (or aux gym) was built between the boys locker room and the baseball field, on the old outside basketball courts. Athletic facilities have all be completely rebuilt. Lynbrook looks the same...but different.

Meet your friends
One of the major reasons to attend Sunday was to visit with all of your old classmates. Find out what each has done in their personal and professional lives. Meet their families. Share time with them. Relationships and memories. Some of the true things we get to keep throughout our lives.
